The goal of dressage training is to develop a horse’s balance, flexibility and responsiveness to aids. The strength gained by the horse as a result of this type of training makes the horse more pleasurable to ride. Not only does basic dressage training assist the horse in becoming more athletic and obedient, it also helps the rider to improve their own skills.

Show Jumping
Show Jumping includes both Hunter and Jumper classes. Hunter classes are judged on the degree to which a standard of manners, style and way of going is met. Jumper classes are judged based on a numerical score determined by whether the horse attempts the obstacle, clears it and finishes the course within the allotted time.

Eventing is an equestrian triathlon, which is comprised of dressage, cross country and show jumping. The intent is to test an equestrian’s dynamic ability to control his or her horse.
